Conversations at PCWC

Next session: Creating Characters with Elle Vidovich (2024/25 EWP Participant)

In this session, we’ll discuss how character is revealed through setting, dialogue, internal voice, and relationships. We’ll begin with crime fiction to examine how genre conventions influence character choice and development. We’ll open the conversation up to other genres, what we expect in characters from those genres and what happens when you break these expectations. Conversations at PCWC are a relaxed, informal, Q&A type session where conversations around writing, over a range of topics, will be programmed throughout the year. Occurring, roughly, monthly there will usually be a short presentation about the topic followed by conversation. It’s a great way for members and friends to engage with others about the wonderful world of writing! Updates to our sessions are posted here. Free for members. Non-members $10.
